Broken bones, broken dreams

What a dramatic title. But it's true! Poor Max got hit by a car and broke the hell out of his leg. He's out of hospital now, but he'll be out of the game for a while.

Danny Way has sure broken his fair share of bones (and dreams, for that matter - that poor gay man's, and Josh Swindell's). I was fortunate enough to be Joey's date for a special screening of D Way's new doco. Numerous industry heads were in attendance, including skateboard.com.au lynchpin Drew and the coolest BMXer in the world - Rhys.

I hadn't realised D Way was in the building - here he is coming in with Tas Pappas! And there I was, vocally defaming him to anyone who would listen. I felt a bit scared, but stuck to my guns. D Way loves his guns.

Ben was not only in town for one night only, but he was more dressed up than Tom! In a lambskin jacket, no less.

The lumberjack look is still very big.

A young D Way. I enjoyed the skating, the company and the popcorn.

And the glamour! I insisted that Ben and I had our photo taken in front of the Hollywood style sponsor wall.

A few weeks ago, a group of us started work on a warehouse space we had found for a skatepark to see us through the winter months.

We mucked around all day pulling out nails and putting things together. It was grubby fun.

We managed to build the frame for the first obstacle, and had a bit of a skate on Mike's old grind box, which had grass growing on it from sitting outside for years. Then the place got leased to someone else. Oh well!
