Rye

We went away for the weekend, to stay at Beci's mum Marg's house in Rye. We did some babysitting on Saturday night, and had lots of relaxing on either side. It was fun hanging out with Ari, Tyke, Beci and Raph (and Rosie and Tess!).

Finally made it to Rye skatepark

The beach was great. 27 degrees - the best summer temperature.

Garage sale

On the weekend we had a garage sale. It was supposed to start at 8am, but we slept in because it was Joey's bday the night before.

Photobucket

It was also the opening of French's exhibition.

Photobucket

here's one of his wonderful imaginings.

Photobucket

And the night before, we had trundled along to an interesting, heckle-heavy comedy night at 99 Problems, with Dave as the headline act.

Photobucket

So, by the time we got moving, Keegan had been waiting downstairs for an hour already. He loves a garage sale!

Photobucket

As well as Rosie and my assorted clothing items, Emma had brought along a bunch of her stuff because she is moving to Alice Springs. We scored a food processor, which I have already put to good use.

Photobucket

It rained on and off all morning. See Tess taking shelter? She's not for sale, I joked to unsuspecting punters.

Photobucket

I sold a bunch of old jeans and stuff. "Why are all these jeans by Note to Self?", I was asked by unsuspecting punters.

Photobucket

Brendan happened to be randomly walking past wearing a ridiculous borrowed t-shirt. I furnished him with a nice yellow one in a better fit. Naturally, I charged him for it.

Photobucket

These guys relieved me of a few key items, while Keegan spruiked his own wares.

Photobucket

Tess had set up her own stall, but nothing was for sale. She didn't quite get the whole concept.

Photobucket

Afterwards, we had a few celebratory drinks down the road with Jasmine, Michelle and Emma. Romy showed up and she was meeting some other people. The blurriness of the photos is very indicative of our jubilant mood.

Photobucket

Jasmine was wearing a cool t-shirt.

Photobucket

What else? Bret stayed with us for a spell.

Photobucket

Bit of a carpark jib.

Photobucket

It was Jason's bday last week. We went for dinner after our yoga class. You heard right.

Photobucket

Sammy V was in town recently.

Photobucket

Sam is back on the bike.

Photobucket

Georgia and Mel launched their hilarious male stripper calendar at New Day Rising.

Photobucket

Leah was in town for the occasion, as was Bonnie of course.

Photobucket

Quite a dog-heavy occasion.

Photobucket

It was also Raph's bday a few weeks ago. He celebrated by cooking us all lots of food.

Photobucket

It was a fun and delicious gathering.

Photobucket

I went skating with Ed in the city that day when all the trees got blown onto cars and stuff. It was pretty fun!

Natural Wonders

I've been gathering footage for this clip since we went to Brisbane a few months ago and I went skating around the city with Ben. We got some good stuff that day; see the special Ben Ventress jazz part at the end. Since then, I've been trying to get more stuff that measured up to that standard. It's hard to capture the magic, especially when the appearance of a camera often seems to scare the magic away. But thanks to a trip to New Zealand, a few fun outings (and another visit from Ben), I give you Natural Wonders.
