Snow

Got up super early on saturday to drive to the snow

We weren't going to Bonnie Doon, but it didn't stop us singing the song!

Dr. Jay was the mastermind behind the trip. He organised the whole thing and even borrowed equipment for me. His two mates Ron and Craig completed our quadrangle.

The ugly side of the snow: people.

Damn it felt good to be a gangsta

We missed the turn to Mt. Buller and drove for 60 kms the wrong way before asking for directions. Amazing scenery on the way back. Stopped for a Pat Cash.

When we eventually made it to the snow, it was everything I remembered from the last time I saw it (about 7 years ago!) and more. So much fun.

Photobucket

Amazing! And it was warm and still. And crowded as hell.

I got the hang of things pretty quickly and could handle going down the hills fine. It's so quiet, yet so fast and scary. When you go down, you go down so hard! But then you get up and you're moving fast again and can't sulk.

On the last run of the day, the sun was streaming between the mountains and I felt all was right in the world.

End of day pint with the lads, amid much back slapping and blokey jokes

Some crazy fashions are being rocked on the slopes.

We stayed in a nice cabin not too far away. Though we were kind of carrying on like 18 year olds, we ate like kings and sat up playing Uno. Seems the years are catching up with us in their own way.

Photobucket

We slept to a respectable hour and dined on a similarly gourmet breakfast with all the trimmings.

Photobucket

Tried to find the river with no luck. The air and scenery were amazing.

And had another wonderful day on the mountain. The other guys got in without paying for a second day's lift pass, but I got busted. It was worth a try, tickets are $100 per day!! The lads chipped in though, very decent of them I must say.

It was one of those weekends away that felt more like a week. Highly recommended. Thanks Jay!
