What's going on

Last weekend, I looked after Sofia and Miles for the day. They were playing me like a banjo.

I got a job! Working with Penny and Chris on ThreeThousand.

Yesterday morning, Sam's dad Vin gave us a ride to the airport with our precious art cargo.

We flew to Brisbane. Sam played Sodoku while I read a paperback about being a soldier in Afghanistan that i found on the floor.

Ben kindly picked us up from the airport. We headed back to his new manor and Elissa had prepared us an amazing luncheon. We dined al fresco.

Last minute preparations for the 'I used to skate once' show tonight.

Photobucket

Now we're waiting at Matt's shop the outpost for Joe and Sonny to get here so we can install our show 'Happy Endings' for Friday.

Photobucket

The hype machine is in overdrive!

Photobucket

Ah they just got here. Come along if you're in Brisbane tonight or tomorrow night!

Slam magazine and Vanity Fair magazine

The Zoo York video premiered at the Astor theatre. Such a good theatre.

Mixtape it aint. But Brandon Westgate raises eyebrows,

and Eli Reed does an amazing switch flip:

Afterwards, there was free pizza and beer, and a random hip-hop performance, befitting the Zoo York image. It would have been amazing if they got, say, a salsa band to play, just to get people thinking.

Prior had taken notes on his phone and posted a concise review on the skateboard.com forums. We disagreed on a few points, such as if it's actually a good thing if washed-up pros continue to milk it even though they obviously don't really skate much anymore (Prior finds it amusing, I think it makes videos boring), but essentially I share and applaud his take on the whole thing.

Doosie and Jason. My take on the video should be up on Doosie's Tackyworld soon.

The carpet is great, as are Sam's feet.

Jake is the editor of Slam magazine and a fellow South Australian. He used to have multiple pairs of Adidas gazelles before you could get them in Australia, which to me back then was the ultimate badge of authenticity. He had flown in for the premiere and only got there in time for half of the last part. He didn't seem too disappointed.

Photobucket

Ah, the Astor.

On Sunday, I was Scottie's assistant on a photo shoot for the GPO building, which was kind of a big deal. What else was a big deal was I missed out on going to the Star Wars exhibition at Scienceworks to do it. What else was a big deal was he picked me up at 7:05am with hash browns from McDonalds.

Photobucket

The crew.

No, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you, two of the models are no strangers to this blog. It's Rosie and Rick! When Rosie came out with the nu-goth make up I didn't recognise her. Look at her, she's loving it. As for Rick, what a professional.

Photobucket

It got quite hectic.

Photobucket

Scottie was loving it. I was quite impressed. He does not do things by halves.

Photobucket

Elaborate props aplenty. Afterwards, one of the fellows running the show, whose name happens to be Trevor Salmon, kindly offered us the bread. It reeked of fish! Rick took a loaf to be polite.

Photobucket

Afterwards, we were knackered.

Photobucket

I mainly held things, played with the computer and pointed a big fan at the girls (who were freezing already). In a rare twist of fate, I was spotted by a talent scout from LA and offered the starring role in an upcoming HBO series about a down-on-his-luck rug salesman.

Photobucket

Oh, if you're the person reading this in the Ukraine, please email me!

Extender

I dropped my blogging device on Saturday, whilst revisiting Bad Luck Hill, the scene of my accident late last year. It won't work any more. So, here's my favourite Partridge moment for the week:
